OUR STORY

Wight Productions has been operating for over 10 years and has quickly become the leading name on the Isle of Wight for professional photography and film production.

We have worked with many businesses across the Island including The Isle of Wight Council, Cowes Week, Round the Island Race, Visit Isle of Wight plus many hotels and tourist attractions. Demand for our work has now grown further afield with clients based not only on the mainland but many parts of the world. Recent clients have included Lego, Ferrari, Harrods, Blackberry and Triumph.

ABOUT MICHAEL

Michael is the founder of Wight Productions and is still involved with all projects. Combining his qualifications and vast experience he continues to build a company which offers  leading creative solutions. Michael has two children with his wife Rachel who is Graphic Designer. After work he can often be found at the cinema and loves the Island for its natural beauty.

1984 - 2003

Childhood

He started making films at an early age, using the family camcorder to make his own short films. Getting involved with local amateur dramatic performances Michael built on his skills both on and off stage. He attended a number of courses in film production and photography as well as film studies at A-Level.

2003 - 2008

University

This passion led him to Bournemouth Art Institute where he studied photography and film, completing a degree in film production. During this time Michael gained experience working for small production companies throughout the South Coast as well as the BBC and Momentum Pictures. 

2008 - 2018

Creating Wight Productions

On his return to the Island Michael decided to set up Wight Productions as he could see a clear need and gap in the market for a local production company that could offer high quality videos to both businesses and individuals.

Continued Success

Wight Productions has been a leading media producer on the Isle of Wight for over 10 years. Michael has also worked off Island producing films for exhibition and conferences at the NEC and Excel as well as creating promotional films for many well known clients such as Sunseeker, Martin Baker and Aston Martin. Finally he has lectured at the Isle of Wight College and also runs training programmes for the next generation of creatives.

Meet Our Team

All the great film and photography work we do here at Wight Productions couldn’t be done without our amazing team of creatives… 

Simon

Simon adds a wealth of experience having worked in video production for over 30 years! He was lead camera operator at TV12 and Solent TV as well as working as a freelancer for many of the largest AV companies across the UK. He is adept at using any camera we throw at him and is always on hand to problem solve us youngsters need help with!

Tom

Tom is our new boy! He has worked with us for many years but has recently graduated from Bristol University studying in the highly regarded 'Screenology Film School'. He is already a very accomplished cinematographer and editor with a passion for documentary films. He is used to working under pressure while being highly creative.

Rachel

Rachel heads up our graphic design and social media. After completing her degree in communication and design from the University of Portsmouth she moved back the Island and has worked as a graphic designer for over 10 years. During this time she has worked with many of the largest Island companies and has a keen eye for detail.
